The Fall Equinox is a threshold moment: day and night in perfect balance before we tip into the long descent of autumn. Across traditions, this season is understood as a time of harvest and release—gathering what has ripened, letting go of what cannot last, and preparing to move into the darker half of the year. It is also the season of shadow, when we are invited to turn toward what is hidden, buried, or uncomfortable.
Shadow work is about facing what we’ve repressed, denied, or disowned. On a collective level, systems of oppression also have “shadows”—histories erased, voices silenced, traumas buried. Doing shadow work helps us surface what dominant culture has pushed into the dark, so we can confront and transform it.
Join us on SUNDAY September 21st (9AM PST / 12PM EST) for a special gathering of Movement for the Movement called Dancing with the Shadows. Through movement and ritual, we’ll turn toward what has been hidden or silenced—both in ourselves and in our world—and move together to reclaim these truths as power for collective transformation.
